How much does a TuningBot tuning file cost?
Every service has a fixed price: see the price list. In the configurator you pick the modifications and see the total before uploading.
Professionals and workshops can buy prepaid credit packages in the TuningBot shop and pay each order from their balance.
Which payment methods are accepted?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express and PayPal, plus prepaid credits for account holders. The invoice is generated automatically and emailed right after payment.
Do I need an account?
No: tuning files can be ordered as a guest. An account is needed only for hardware purchases and prepaid credits, and gives you order history and faster checkout.
When is my file ready?
Service hours: every day, 07:00–23:00 CET. Delivery: usually 15-20 minutes; demanding jobs can take longer. The live status is at the top of every page; files uploaded outside hours are processed when we open.
I don’t have the original file of my ECU. Can I still order?
The original (stock) file of your exact ECU is always required. If you have no read, buy it on OriginalECUfiles.com (195,000+ files, searchable by vehicle, ECU, HW and SW): match HW and SW first, then upload it here.
Files, Tools & Technical Questions
Which ECU file formats are accepted?
.bin, .ori and the native formats of Alientech, CMD, Autotuner, Magicmotorsport, PCMFlash and Dimsport. Upload a complete, unmodified read. To modify an already tuned file, attach both the original and the tuned file and say so in the notes.
Which tuning tools are supported?
All genuine master tools: Alientech (KESS3, KESSv2, K-TAG), CMD (Flash, Bench/Boot), Autotuner, Magicmotorsport (Flex), PCMFlash, Dimsport (New Genius, Trasdata) and OEM diagnostic tools with flash capability. Slave tools from these brands work when linked to a TuningBot master account.
Cloned tools are accepted at the owner’s responsibility: incomplete reads and failed writes are frequent, and problems they cause are not covered by the warranty. Unsure what to buy? See the tool purchase guide or the shop.
Is my ECU supported, and which services can I order for it?
Type your ECU model into the ECU service checker: it lists the available services. We cover Bosch, Siemens-Continental, Delphi, Denso, Magneti Marelli, Hitachi, Keihin, Mitsubishi and more, for cars, trucks, motorcycles, agricultural, marine and industrial engines. Full list: ECU services.
Do I need the checksum correction add-on?
Usually no: genuine master tools calculate the checksum when writing. Order checksum correction only if your tool or workflow needs the checksum already embedded in the file.
How are diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) handled?
Codes of a deleted system (DPF, EGR, AdBlue…) are removed with that service. Other codes: order DTC removal and list them (P0401, P2002…). Meaning and related service of any code: DTC code explorer.
Removing a code hides the warning; it does not repair the fault. Diagnose the mechanical cause first: masking a real problem can damage the engine.
What must be done on the vehicle for DPF, EGR and AdBlue/SCR off?
Software alone is not enough: each deletion needs mechanical preparation.
- DPF: filter removed or gutted; pressure sensor and, often, EGT sensors disconnected. DPF delete guide
- EGR: valve mechanically blanked; unplugging the connector is not enough. EGR delete guide
- AdBlue/SCR: tank kept or sealed; NOx sensors disconnected or simulated depending on the ECU. AdBlue off guide
What exactly to disconnect is on each service page under ECU services and in the notes delivered with your file: it depends on vehicle, ECU and emission standard.
Can you move the immobiliser data to a replacement ECU?
Yes: VAG ECU & TCU clone (immo edit) moves the immobiliser data from your original unit to a used replacement, so the car starts without dealer coding. Upload the reads of both units; supported ECUs and price on the service page.
The tuned file does not work after flashing. What now?
- Check the original read: a corrupted or incomplete read always produces a bad tune. Re-read the ECU and compare the file size.
- Check the checksum setting: automatic checksum ON if you did not order checksum correction, OFF if you did.
- Check the mechanical work: DPF removed, EGR blanked, AdBlue components addressed, required sensors disconnected.
- Clear all stored codes and reset readiness monitors after flashing.
- Check the flashing conditions: stable voltage (charger recommended), correct ignition position, write completed without interruption.
- Reply to your order email with vehicle data, tool used, symptoms, codes shown and which mechanical steps are done. Corrections, alternative calibrations or a replacement file are covered by the warranty at no cost.
Warranty, Support & Rules
How do I get technical support?
Reply to your order confirmation email: it goes into the ticket of your order. No phone support. First answer usually within 30 minutes in service hours, up to 4 hours for complex cases.
Include: order number, vehicle and ECU part number, tool used, symptoms, error codes, mechanical work done. Photos help.
What does the 30-day warranty cover?
Every file is covered for 30 days from the delivery of the first modified file: free corrections, alternative calibrations and recalibration for a different hardware setup. Statutory rights are unaffected.
Not covered: wrong tool settings, corrupted or incomplete original reads, pre-existing mechanical faults, cloned or counterfeit tools, mechanical preparation not done, files modified by others after delivery, hardware failures unrelated to the tune.
If a service cannot be completed or corrected, we issue platform credit for the amount paid, valid 180 days; monetary refunds only where the law requires them. Prepaid credits bought in the shop never expire. Our resolution rate is above 99%. Full conditions: user agreement.
What do I need to use TuningBot?
A master (or linked slave) tuning tool, a complete original read of the ECU, basic read/write skills and the ability to do the mechanical work some services require. TuningBot supplies the file; diagnosis and work on the vehicle are yours.
Is this legal?
Emission deletions (DPF, EGR, AdBlue/SCR, catalyst) are for off-road, competition and export use and illegal on public roads in the EU, UK, USA and most countries. Power tuning can affect type approval, insurance and manufacturer warranty. Compliance with local law is the customer’s responsibility. Details: user agreement.
