Driver Wish / Pedal Interpretation

Driver wish (or pedal interpretation) maps translate accelerator pedal position into a torque request. This is the starting point of the entire torque-based control system and directly affects throttle response and power delivery feel.

Panoramica

The ECU reads accelerator pedal position sensors and uses driver wish maps to determine how much torque the driver is requesting. This request then flows through limiters and arbitration before reaching the engine.
