Basic Training – Chiptuning Basics & Alientech Tools

The ultimate introduction to the chiptuning world: understand current tuning applications, learn the basic modification skills and what can be achieved through engine control unit modification. The ECU structure is analyzed in detail together with its internal software, the current tuning protections and the steps to follow, then the Alientech tools and services that support the user before, during and after the modification are presented.

Who it is for

Automotive technicians, mechanical workshops, students and professionals. Prerequisite: transversal knowledge of automotive electronics.

Programme

• Introduction to chiptuning; remapping purposes: performance, fuel saving, recalibration
• ECU hardware (microprocessor, flash, EEPROM) and software (firmware, engine maps)
• Binary/hexadecimal bytes; tuning protections: checksum
• Alientech tools: KESS3 overview and Alientech Suite software
• ECM Titanium overview and features; looking up and selecting a Driver
• Engine map visualization: tabular, 2D, 3D; ASCII search in the file; Summary increases feature
• Alientech online services: reserved area, customer support, Driver request, download area

Course format

• In-person, one training day of 6–8 hours with an official Alientech Academy trainer (two short breaks plus lunch break)
• Official customized Certificate of Participation issued by Alientech Academy, downloadable from the Alientech website
