The automatic start/stop function is designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by shutting the engine off when the vehicle is stationary. Many drivers, however, find it intrusive in daily use, especially in dense urban traffic or short-trip scenarios. With a professional start stop removal calibration, the system stays deactivated by default at every ignition cycle, so the car behaves like a conventional vehicle without having to press the start/stop button each time.
How the start/stop system works
The automatic start/stop feature uses information from several sensors—battery charge, brake and clutch position, engine temperature, A/C demand and steering angle—to decide when the engine can be stopped during idling. When all conditions are met, the ECU switches the engine off and restarts it as soon as the driver releases the brake or presses the clutch. While efficient in theory, frequent stop/start cycles can increase the duty on the starter motor, flywheel and battery system and may temporarily reduce cabin comfort when the engine is stopped.
What start stop removal does

Benefits and technical notes
Start/stop deactivation keeps the engine running continuously once started, ensuring consistent throttle response and uninterrupted operation of comfort systems such as A/C and cabin heating. It can reduce mechanical cycling on the starter motor, flywheel and battery and avoids borderline stop/start events in borderline conditions (for example during manoeuvring or parking).
All ECU diagnostics, fault memory and safety strategies remain active. The start/stop button continues to function as normal, so the system can still be enabled manually by the driver for specific situations if required. The modification is fully reversible by reflashing the original file.
