Component Temperature Protections (ECT, IAT, Oil)

🧠 Part of the TuningBot ECU Knowledge Base — in-depth documentation on ECU logic, maps, emissions systems and safe calibration methods.

Temperature protection strategies prevent engine damage when thermal limits are approached.

Coolant Temperature

  • Normal — 85-105°C
  • Warning — 110-115°C
  • Critical — 120°C+

Oil Temperature

  • Normal — 90-120°C
  • Hot — 130-140°C
  • Critical — 150°C+

IAT Protection

Higher IAT causes timing retard, boost reduction, and torque derating. Significant impact above 60°C.
