GPF / OPF / PPF Removal (Gasoline Particulate Filter Off)
GPF removal (also known as OPF in German “Ottopartikelfilter” or PPF for petrol particulate filter) is a professional ECU calibration service that disables all GPF/OPF/PPF control strategies and related diagnostics.
This allows stable engine operation without the physical particulate filter installed — for motorsport or off-road applications, or where permitted by local law.Since Euro 6c (from September 2018 for newly registered cars), most gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines include a particulate filter. When these filters are repeatedly clogged (urban cycles, short trips) or cause excessive backpressure, drivers may face reduced power, higher fuel consumption and frequent limp-mode events. In these scenarios, a correct GPF/OPF removal performed at ECU level restores exhaust flow and avoids forced regeneration cycles.
What the service includes
Our engineers remove GPF/OPF/PPF strategies inside the ECU maps and switch off the corresponding on-board diagnostics (DTC and readiness flags where applicable).
Procedures are bench-validated and dyno-verified to maintain OEM-level drivability, correct fueling and exhaust temperature control. Whenever needed, we provide notes about sensors or auxiliary components to disconnect on specific ECUs.
Benefits and technical notes
Mit GPF removal, the engine breathes more freely, exhaust gas temperature is typically lower under load, and turbocharger stress is reduced. Throttle response becomes more consistent, and fuel efficiency can improve in real-world driving.
Keep in mind: removal is intended for non-road use unless local regulations explicitly allow it. Always verify compliance in your jurisdiction before on-road operation.
